1029 - Hannington Farm
Northamptonshire
Hannington farm is a contemporary family home in Northamptonshire centred around a functioning organic deer farm. The main house building is framed in CLT, exposed at points internally and uses cranked, exposed Glulam portal frames to form the pitched roof.
Key Features
- Timber beam and column connections have been extensively detailed to ensure the desired aesthetic can be achieved, prior to being taken on by a specialist timber contractor.
- A separate guest wing and stables has been constructed in more traditional blockwork and timber, while the working barn building is framed in lightweight steel portal frames.
- A fishing lake has also been created on the site at the junction of three existing streams.
- The below ground drainage is fed through a packaged sewage processing plant before being discharged into the watercourse.
