Vertical extension
We added two additional storeys with the large atrium driven through the centre of the building for circulation.
Retention of existing buildings
Through extensive structural testing we justified the capacity of the existing cast iron columns and foundation, minimising the need for strengthening works.
Exposed internal structure and staircase
The large internal atrium features exposed timber joisted floors and a feature steel staircase.
Column-free top floor
Two lightweight trusses span the full width of the building, providing a column free top floor and north-light roofing.
