Key features

Rear terraced extension

The refurbishment fills in the former car park space with a terraced ‘wedding cake’ style extension, adding floors to the rear block.

Working with existing floor-to-ceiling heights

Tight head heights in the existing building necessitated a thin structural zone to the extension, utilising shallow steel beams and CLT slabs to their maximum.

Reducing weight on the existing foundations

Reducing weight on existing foundations, through demolition of loadbearing masonry courtyard wall and lightweight timber slabs.

Relocating plant to enable floor space

A new basement plant room is constructed below the rear lateral extension, freeing up roof area for further high-quality office space.
