Export Building

An office refurbishment within the East India Dock, marking the third phase of the Republic masterplan. Taking cue from the neighbouring Import Building, the Export Building features exposed timber frames to provide a biophilic working environment.

Key features

Exposed timber structure

The exposed structure comprises a CLT and glulam frame, which connects into an existing RC structure.

Additional floor space

Additional floor space has been created by partially infilling the atrium and adding a 2-storey extension along the north façade.

New 2-storey pavilion

The new 2-storey pavilion structure is partially stabilised by a bay of glulam ‘K’ bracing, designed to support a possible future 3-storey extension.
