Key features

Existing fabric restored and rebuilt

The listed building fabric was restored and rebuilt where necessary according to in-depth surveys of the structure and timber roof trusses.

Exposed glulam frames

Exposed tapered glulam portal frames support the new CLT roof and mezzanine slab.

New suspended ground floor slab

A new suspended slab is supported on mini piles positioned around the original below-ground structures, spanning the damaged existing slab.

SuDS in new landscaping

A new sustainable drainage system has been incorporated in the new landscaping, which houses attenuation.

“The results are stunning – reflecting the best of our past and looking to the future.”

John Chilver, Cabinet Member for Property and Assets, Buckinghamshire Council
