2402 - Worship Square
Hackney
Structural design for a new 9-storey commercial development located in the South Shoreditch conservation area. The building will provide flexible and affordable workspace for a range of tenants, from startups and small businesses to established enterprises.
Key features
- Demolition of two existing office buildings to form one unified building with two levels of basement. The basement retaining walls will be formed from a secant piled wall installed from ground floor inboard of the existing walls.
- A total engineering approach to temporary works.
- Structure led design to provide a highly efficient design using conventional steel and concrete slab solution to provide lateral stability.
- The foundations will be constructed from a concrete raft slab with tension piles to resist uplift forces and will re-use the existing piles on site to enhance the bearing capacity.
