Key features

Structure-led approach

A highly efficient design using a conventional steel and concrete slab solution with a centrally located reinforced concrete core providing lateral stability

Basement retaining walls

A secant piled wall installed from ground floor, inboard of the existing walls, designed as part of the basement waterproofing strategy to omit the carbon heavy liner wall construction

Re-use of piles and new foundations

The foundations are constructed from a concrete raft slab with the existing piles reused to enhance the bearing capacity

Exposed structure on office floorplates

Exposed steel beams create an industrial feature in the workplace interiors, befitting the Shoreditch location

Total engineering

HTS delivered total engineering for the project, including temporary works design of the basement propping and overall stability during construction
