Key features

Repurposing a former factory building

The redevelopment of the 1950s Colgate soap works factory on the site involves re-coring, adding floors and retaining 72% of the existing superstructure by volume.

Low carbon technology for new builds

The multi-storey car park uses steel frame with precast concrete slabs and in-situ topping, which is lower in embodied carbon than a traditional precast or composite deck.

Engineered timber pavilion

The centrepiece in the landscape design is an engineered timber pavilion developed using parametric form-finding techniques.

SuDS

Due to the riverfront location, HTS put the flood risk and SuDS statement together, which is required for EA approval.
