Working with site constraints

Various constraints were negotiated to minimise impact, including a heritage listed gatehouse, Underground tunnels, sewers and a Thameslink station.

Movement monitoring to surrounding assets

During the demolition of three existing buildings, movement monitoring ensured stability of surrounding assets.

New double basement

The new double basement features mezzanine levels and supports fourteen storeys above Farringdon Street.

Re-use of piles

The existing concrete piled foundations were re-used and justified.

Surface water flood risk mitigation

Detailed assessment of the overland flows and surface water flood risk to establish a flood mitigation strategy to ensure the building is protected from flash flooding.
