Constructed on an exposed RC podium slab at first floor level
Complex services re-routing
All existing and historic below ground services needed to be diverted around the proposed foundations in a new trench before construction.
Attenuation under playing fields
We used the area beneath the playing fields next to the building to provide a large soakaway tank for run-off water storage.
Faceted and functional roof form
The distinctive timber roof and steel-framed chimneys incorporate extraction stacks for ventilation of the lab spaces.
