Extending the atrium

The existing 1990s steel-framed atrium was extended both horizontally and vertically.

Introducing new lightwells

New lightwells and feature entrances were created to allow more daylight into the development.

Strengthening the existing structure

The existing structure was strengthened to accommodate local changes in use.

Comparing new build with retrofit

HTS completed a study to analyse the embodied carbon of complete demolition and replacement versus retaining the existing building with alterations.

Constructing above an occupied basement

All works were carried out above an occupied separate basement domain.
