Protecting mature tree roots

A careful regime for root exposure was put in place and a pile raft slab foundation solution used to provide flexibility. The slab was ventilated beneath to provide oxygen to the roots.

Dramatic cantilevers

The steel frame is cantilevered in several directions, with a large storey-high Vierendeel truss providing column-free views.

6m-high feature glass door

The house features a double-height dining hall at its centre with unobstructed 6m-tall sliding glazed doors.
