Tom is passionate about design and the benefits good design can bring. He enjoys the building process immensely and contributes an energy and innovation to the projects he works on. Tom likes to take a heavy involvement in all his projects, whether this is at concept stage or finalising details and always strives to achieve an intelligent and efficient structural solution. Tom’s approach has allowed him to build strong relationships with some of the country’s leading clients and architects with whom he has completed a wide variety of exciting buildings. A large proportion of Tom’s work has been within the urban environment of London and he has significant experience of adapting and extending existing structures and overcoming the challenges of building on constrained sites.

Tom started his career with Arup before working for Price and Myers for 8 years where he was involved in projects such as The Johnson Building with Derwent London and Allford Hall Monaghan Morris and Moorfields Children’s Eye Hospital with Penoyre and Prasad. Tom became chartered in 2004 and an associate at Price and Myers in 2005. He co-found Heyne Tillett Steel in 2007.
