•Laura Batty makes the Building Top 40 under 40
Hailed as the list that celebrates ‘the brightest and best of construction’s next generation’, Laura, who runs the research arm of Heyne Tillett Steel, HTS+, consistently fills this criteria for her work in and out of the practice – her involvement in the Accelerating Concrete Decarbonisation Group (ACDG) and the Engineers Reuse Collective (tERC), to name just a couple.
“Where the stuff we use comes from and how it gets to us is hugely important. Not only the physical materials – though these are very important – but also the skills, and the impact of technology like AI. Knowing the impact is only the first step. What comes next, we don’t know yet but we as an industry should be curious about figuring it out.”
