Sensitive restoration of the one of UK’s oldest velodromes, including a new community pavilion. Open to the public, the new timber structure offers panoramic views of the track, a covered activities space, changing facilities and step-free access throughout.

Key features
New CLT / glulam timber structure
A new load-bearing CLT / glulam 2-storey structure replaces the derelict 19th-century structure.
Reuse of heritage cast iron columns
The original 1890s cast iron columns were strengthened and repurposed to support the new grandstand roof.
Trackside re-landscaped with new drainage system
The trackside area was re-landscaped and a new below ground drainage system was introduced.
