1923 - Worship Square

Worship Square involves replacing two existing office buildings with an eight storey reinforced concrete framed building providing new office space in Shoreditch.

The project developed with Make architects will expose the structure throughout with a feature RC waffle slab installed above the double height reception space.

A new two storey basement will be formed across the whole site using a mix of underpinning and secant piled walls. One of the key challenges is the foundation and retaining wall solutions around the existing piles on site.

Key Features

  • Waffle slab proposed at first floor with an exposed soffit.
  • Upper floors formed with lightweight structure, supported off a transfer slab at seventh floor which will be designed for additional massing for future flexibility.
  • Proposed foundation solution to look at re-using the existing piles on site.
