A private residence originally built in the 1970’s as an RC framed, masonry infill structure. The proposed works involve a substantial remodeling of the internal structure and external elevations to accommodate a new perimeter balcony and brie soliel. This will appear as a floating plain cantilevering 3m off the existing building face using stiff, discrete stainless steel and hardwood flitch beams.
Other works include the construction of a new infinity pool, a sub-terranean plant room and extension to the house.
The building incorporates a spectacular new structural glass stair, with the glass stringers serving as balustrade and beam with minimal connections formed into the hardwood treads.
