1810 - Verse Building
London Borough of Hackney
Demolition of an existing 1980s Shoreditch office block and construction of a new-build modern workplace.
Key Features
- Lightweight steel frame allows long (-11m) column free spans across the office floorplate, with exposed precast concrete planks on the soffit.
- Beams are set up into the floor void with web holes for a displacement air system, to create a clear soffit without downstands.
- A tight, complex site, key considerations included methods of working to lowering the basement, without being affected by the water table or impacting the neighbouring shallow footings.
