1360 - Tintagel House
Lambeth
Existing 1970s RC framed 11 storey building next to MI6, originally for the Metropolitan Police and opened by the Queen.
Key Features
- Extensive refurbishment throughout including new service routes through existing slabs, extension of the existing lift shaft, introduction of a new slab for a ‘Gin bar’ in the old lift overrun and strengthening of the existing roof to provide a useable terrace over.
- Concrete repairs to the existing structure were extensive particularly to the exposed cantilevering feature over the 12th floor terraces.
- A two storey exposed RC frame extension to the Albert Embankment elevation to provide a new entrance, retail and large lounge and office space.
- The project was particularly challenging in terms of obstructions in the ground from the historic dry dock use and liaison with the EA regarding a suitable Sustainable Urban Drainage solution.
