0993 - Tamesis 1 Redevelopment

Runnymede

The project, located next to the M25 motorway, comprises the demolition of the existing ‘Tamesis 1’ office building and the redevelopment of the site to provide a new 100,000 sq ft, five-storey European HQ for a leading multi-national technology company. The scheme includes a three-storey car park structure to the rear of the main building and new landscaping across the site. The site has historic flooding issues which have been a key consideration in the design of the new development and a comprehensive sustainable urban drainage system is being incorporated in the works.

The proposed structure is a steel frame with concrete floors cast on profiled steel decking. Steel linking bridges span across the large central atrium providing access between the two sides of the building. The structure cantilevers 1.5m around the entire perimeter of the building with a larger 3m cantilever to the front façade. The building is clad with a curtain walling system to all elevations, with a sloped elevation to the front façade.
