The project involves the redevelopment of an industrial building in Stevenage to create a Cat A/B hub for coworking biomedical research companies. It is a combination of laboratory space, offices, and collaboration space via enhanced common meeting rooms, circulation space, café provision.

Key Features

• Erection of new mezzanine floors formed with a mix of reinforced concrete construction, with exposed slab soffits, walls and columns and lightweight steel structure
• The structure is designed for footfall and acoustics based on more onerous design criteria for laboratory use
• Complex integration of M&E services in the new and existing structure
• Alterations to external facades
• Installation of a new below ground drainage system to suit the new layout and change of use, integrated with the existing systems which will be reused where possible
• Design to suit phased construction and phased release of the building by existing tenants
