1927 - Nine Elms - Plot E,F,G

Southwark

Nine Elms Park Parkside is a 5 hectare project with client The Royal Mail Group to redelveop their existing sorting office.

HTS worked with masterplan architects Allies & Morrison together with Morris & Co and Gort Scott, under project managers M3 Consulting, to produce designs for four of the seven development plots. The structures range from 7-23 storeys high over a series of inter-connecting basements, creating 760 residential units and 20,000m2 of lettable office.

Key Features:

  • Key structural challenges arise from constructing over the extension to the London Underground Northern Line, which passes directly beneath the site.
  • There are difficult boundary conditions where construction has occurred up against the ownership boundary as well as taking into account significant amounts of contamination and ground obstructions in the design of 3 basements and subsequent foundations.
  • Various SuDs technics have been designed from basic blue roof and attenuation tanks to rain gardens to minimise the peak outfall from the wider site.
