Camden
This project involves the complete redevelopment of this residential care home, this home forms part of the same group as our Nightingale Care Home project.
The proposals involve a phased construction commencing with a substantial refurbishment to the existing building facing Bishops Avenue. This included complex strengthening to existing piled foundations and the removal of internal columns.
The later phases involve a new build 5 storey care home to the rear, built around a central courtyard with partially submerged lower ground. We have designed an elegant timber trussed roof structure to span the courtyard spaces supported on an RC frame under. Transfer piled foundations are proposed to avoid existing buried piled footings. The existing structure was modelled initially to help understand this interface and the critical construction phasing
