2253 - Brunel Engine Shed

An extension to a Grade II Listed Victorian Brunel Railway Shed in High Wycombe. The project extends the existing form with new engineered timber frames in the spirit of the original build. The development will provide new community and flexible work space.
Key Features
- Glulam tapered portal frames support the new CLT roof and mezzanine slab.
- The existing listed fabric will be restored and rebuilt where required following in depth surveys of the existing structure and timber roof trusses.
- New landscaping surrounding the building will house attenuation to provide sustainable urban drainage.
- The existing ground floor slab is falling apart in places and is built over the old tracks, a new suspended slab is proposed supported on mini piles positioned around historic below ground structures.
