1399 - 3-6 Spring Place

Camden

This site in Kentish Town presents a number complex engineering challenges due to its location and history.

Key Features

  • A 19th century railway viaduct runs through the site and the development includes the spaces in the arches beneath the viaduct and a Thames Water mains sewer is also present on the existing site.
  • The development proposals are for a new five-storey building plus basement providing approximately 40,000 square feet of office accommodation.
  • Through the initial design development close consultation with Network Rail has been key to ensure the development proposals are carefully considered to account for the proximity of the live railway.
  • The design of the building itself has also presented a number of challenges to achieve the complex geometry and columnfree space that are a key part of the design philosophy.
