2512 - Blackwall Reach Phase 3
Blackwall Reach Phase 3 involves the redevelopment of the Robin Hood Gardens East site, adjacent to the Blackwall Tunnel approach road. Demolition of the existing structure is followed by the construction of 2 new residential buildings, each comprising 4 Blocks, of varying height up to 12 storeys, over a shared basement. The project forms part of the wider Blackwall Reach masterplan with the tenure split between social and private lets.
- Constructed using steel modular units to decrease on-site programme and construction wastage.
- New basement aligned with the existing lower ground floor layout to minimise additional site excavation.
- Concrete podium adjusts the modular column grid to suit basement car parking and plant spaces in addition to providing a stable platform for the assembly of the modular units.
- Thames Water build over agreements due to 2.25m diameter storm sewer passing directly beneath the site.
