1416 - 16 Old Bailey
City of London
A complex project that involves the refurbishment of the existing office spaces; compromising the listed building to the front and the steel-framed building to the rear.
Key Features
- Two additional floors are being added and the existing atrium infilled to significantly increase floor area, with minimal foundation strengthening works required.
- New central concrete core being constructed to replace four separate cores, to rationalise floor plates and provide access to new upper levels.
- Significant works to existing structure to provide additional beam penetrations and localised reduction in structural depth to maximise floor-to-ceiling heights.
- Temporary and permanent works design undertaken across an enabling works and main works package to ensure an efficient and consistent structural approach.
