0702 - Epworth House
Hackney
The existing structure was originally three separate adjoining buildings, a complex reinforced concrete frame and two steel frames with clay hollow pot floors.
Key Features
- A third of the structure was demolished and rebuilt to form a column free office space.
- The structure was extended vertically by adding 2 storeys, with the existing foundations justified for the increase in load.
- The frame was completely re-cored, moving the staircase and lifts, to make efficiencies to the floor plate.
- A BREEAM outstanding project.
