Mike Calnan

Mike is a Structural Technician with over 18 years’ experience in both the UK and New Zealand. He has extensive knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and Sketchup and a strong understanding of how buildings are constructed. Whilst championing BIM processes both within the company and beyond, Mike has written a series of protocol documents and is a BRE BIM Approved professional.

Mike uses AutoCAD Revit Structure to create detailed BIM quality models and has worked on a wide range of projects including Coworth Park Spa, 42-46 Princelet Street, Battersea Art Centre and Nottingdale Village.

Mike started his career as an Architectural Technician for structural engineers, following the completion of his degree in Architecture and Construction Science. During this time he developed a keen interest in structures and material development. And after running his own architectural technology company in New Zealand, he moved to the UK and in 2008 joined Heyne Tillett Steel.
