Gordon Armstrong Payne

Gordon joined Heyne Tillett Steel in 2017 and has been involved in various complex projects in central London. He is passionate about the adaptive reuse of existing structures and has experience working from early conceptual stage through to completion on a range of commercial, residential, hotel and education projects.

Gordon enjoys working with the wider design team to develop efficient and elegant solutions for complex engineering challenges. He has an interest in the buildability aspect of projects and enjoys working closely with project teams to resolve site-based issues. He has recently completed a heavy refurbishment of an 1970s RC frame in with a large steel-framed roof extension at 1 Berkeley Street. He is also working on the delivery of Kings Walk Estate, a new build RC frame with low carbon, exposed concrete structure which is due to complete in 2021.

Gordon spent three years whilst at University designing and constructing two bespoke houses in Dundee, gaining valuable experience from an early age. After graduating from the University of Dundee in 2014, he moved to London and began his career with WSP.
