We hosted a full house event, on the top floor at our London office for the NLA Retrofit / M&S debate. Thanks to Fred Pilbrow, Tyler Goodwin, Jay Morton and our chair, Professor Sadie Morgan OBE. It was good to have a discussion around a project that has elevated the issue to public consciousness.
"It’s important that we don’t muddy the issue though. Our challenge as an industry is lowering carbon; we have a massive influence on this, and a duty to society. We all need to act responsibly. Projects must be looked at on a case by case basis, and not just discussed in the round.
What we need is data, clarity and action. A discussion on the retention / redevelopment of a residential block is totally different to that of a framed central London retail and office building." Mark Tillett
