We are delighted to announce our Drayton Green Church project with Piercy and Co has won The NLA Culture award.
Drayton Green Church was a redevelopment project of an existing church in West Ealing. The striking architectural scheme posed a number of structural challenges; including the creation of a pleated roofscape to the main hall and entrance lobby. Options considered included traditional timber joists as well as prefabricated timber cassette panels however for aesthetic and programme reasons cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels were chosen. The new substructure is sympathetic to retained tall trees, closely neighbouring buildings as well as the listed chapel itself.
