Our refurbishment project at Lower James Street with Halebrown Architects and Collins Construction, updated a 1930s office building for Knight Frank Investment Management. We provided an additional mezzanine level with a new CLT prefabricated cranked roof over, strengthening to the existing floor plates, and reconfiguration of the existing core. The ground and basement levels changed use to a restaurant incorporating an extensive new basement drainage system.
CLT fabricators Eurban craned in the 2.4m wide panels from a very narrow street. The timber has received only fire treatment and a white-wash leaving it exposed inside the office space.
