Kelly Harrison named a WES Top 50 Women in Engineering

We are excited to announce that HTS Associate and Timber Lead Kelly Harrison has received a Women in Engineering award for her contribution to sustainability within engineering. Kelly has been recognised as one of 50 leading women in the sector working to deliver low-carbon strategies and solutions while supporting women in STEM roles.

Kelly said: "I am honoured to have been chosen as one of the Top 50 Women in Engineering: Sustainability winners. Over the last ten years I have been heavily involved in the research and delivery of sustainable strategies on my projects and am a passionate advocate of sustainable, modern methods of construction. Through my work as Timber Lead at Heyne Tillett Steel, my role at TRADA, and participation in talks both in the UK and internationally, I have championed the use of engineered timber to reduce carbon emissions, enhance wellbeing and improve the quality and speed of construction.

Sharing knowledge and working collaboratively is fundamental in addressing the climate emergency and accomplishing the UK’s commitment to achieve Net Zero carbon by 2050. I am proud that my work has been recognised with this award and would like to congratulate all the winners for championing sustainable engineering solutions and helping to shape a better world."
