HTS presents 16 Chart Street as part of NLA's Projects in Practice series

As part of the NLA's Net Zero Programme, we were delighted to present 16 Chart Street for the first in the Projects in Practice series. Chart Street is our low-carbon redevelopment of an existing masonry warehouse which will soon become the new office for our expanding practice.

The session got off to an exciting site with director Mark Tillett broadcasting straight from site to give a whistle stop tour of the building and a glimpse into our new home. The second half of the talk was hosted by associate director Andrew Howe and senior technical research engineer Laura Batty who were stationed back in our current office at Pear Tree Court to provide a detailed anaylsis of the structural frame options and use of timber as well as an overview of the project's embodied and whole life carbon.

The session forms part of our role as NLA Net Zero Programme Champions, demonstrating our committment to retrofit, reuse and low-carbon structural design.
