As a prime example of low-carbon structural and architectural design, our Goldsmiths Enterprise Hub project is set to feature in the Science Museum’s upcoming exhibition: Our Future Planet.
From 19th May 2021 to September 22, the project’s intricate architectural model will be displayed alongside other examples of natural solutions helping to mitigate the effects of climate change.
In response to the project’s exhibition feature, Morris + Company have produced an excellent video exploring the embodied carbon impact of Goldsmiths Enterprise Hub.
Through retaining and reusing the existing building fabric as well as limiting cement use, specifying glulam timber elements and high performance insultation, the embodied carbon has been lowered to 290kgC02e, with the timber elements sequestering over 90 tonnes of CO2.
