Double win at the Structural Timber Awards 2021

We are proud to announce a double award win at this year’s Structural Timber Awards.

First up, our new office at 16 Chart Street has been named as the Commercial Project of the Year. The project is a redevelopment of an existing 1930s furniture warehouse located in Hoxton. Utilising low carbon CLT and glulam, the existing building has been sensitively restored and extended to create a contemporary, adaptable and sustainable workplace.

Designed with Ian Chalk Architects, Chart Street demonstrates our commitment to the responsible reuse of existing building stock and forms part of our ongoing work to position structural timber as a material of choice within the commercial sector

Our second win at this year’s awards: we’re proud to have been named Pioneer of the Year, an accolade we’re delighted to share alongside Arup.

Since our inception in 2007, HTS has been at the forefront of emerging timber technologies, working alongside leading architects on the delivery of complex and highly sustainable timber frame buildings.

Innovation is key to our design process - through our research arm, HTS+ and our in-house Timber Focus Group, we have delivered a number of technical research projects and contributed to industry-wide initiatives to help promote the wide-spread benefits of using structural timber.

Congratulations to all award winners!
