Phase II of our work for Channing School, The Performing Arts Building, has now completed.
The structure comprises of a steel frame with CLT roof and provides a 300-seat auditorium and performance space with retractable seating and tension wire grid along. The new building also provides music and drama teaching areas and follows the earlier completion of a new Sixth-form Centre and Sports Hall for the school.
The new steel and CLT structure was erected in just over one week during the summer holidays to ensure that the term-time running of the school was not affected by the major structural works.
Both projects were undertaken with Buckley Gray Yeoman Architects.
