The refurbishment and extension of a late 1950s warehouse building to create a modern workspace with retail at ground floor.  Significant rooftop extension, adding floors to the existing building in exposed glulam frame with CLT slabs.

Key Features

  • Site maximized with side and rooftop extensions to add ~60% internal floor area
  • Maximised retention of existing structure to be celebrated as an exposed concrete finish
  • Feature brick clad corner extension to form new reception, lobby and multi-purpose arts space
  • Lightweight timber framing solution to new floors limited the strengthening requirements of the existing building
