1839 - Riverside House

Southwark

The project comprises the remodelling and extension of the iconic riverside office building. Working with Gensler Architects HTS have justified added two stories of office space across the whole building without any column or foundation strengthening.

The iconic spinnaker steel frame to the riverside elevation has been modified to incorporate the increased office space and adapted into terrace spaces.

Key Features

  • Two floors will be added on top of the existing building to increase the lettable floor area while minimising the extent of strengthening works required.
  • The iconic exoskeletal ‘spinaker’ structure will be adjusted to improve its functionality.
  • All works will be undertaken while the building is partially occupied by the existing tenant, which prohibits extensive strengthening works.
