A full refurbishment, with additional basement space, of a mews property within the Cadogan Estate area of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
The subterranean development was constructed using reinforced concrete – RC underpinning where permitted through party wall agreements, RC columns and RC ground floor slab. Above the ground floor, floors were reconstructed with timber joists, supported from steel beams and the retained party, front and back walls. The timber mansard roof was also re-built to maximise floor ceiling heights. The high end fit out specification also included a bespoke steel staircase supported from folded flat steel plate stringers, also acting as the balustrading.
