Spencer has 30 years’ experience as a CAD technician, working on complex schemes ranging from adapting listed residential buildings to £120m prime commercial developments.

Having trained as an engineering draftsman and programmer, he has been instrumental in progressing the use of CAD and developing standards of best practice throughout his career, and has led the CAD team at HTS since the practice was established 11 years ago.

Spencer enjoys the challenges involved in undertaking structural design projects using 3D design tools and is adept at using Autocad, Rhino and Revit. His previous experience includes the Property Services Agency, Campbell Reith Hill and Price & Myers - where he helped develop the practice’s approach to modelling using Autodesk Revit.

At HTS Spencer leads the technician team and is responsible for developing and maintaining drawing standards, CAD programming and training. He is involved in the development and use of design software and has recently introduced 3D printing, Virtual Reality (VR), 4D modelling and web-based animation to the practice.

He is interested in the way 3D drawing has evolved and remains passionate about using new tools to make the production of 3D models more efficient.
