Weavers Adventure Playground, Bethnal Green

HTS are breathing new life into Weavers Adventure Playground in Bethnal Green. The play space is open five days a week and allows children the freedom to play safely in the open-air. Established over 40 years ago, the charity serves a vast cross-section of the local community welcoming 100’s of children, parents and carers to use the supervised play facilities and neighbourhood kitchen.

The playground and community hub are both in need of repair and committee members have asked HTS to help. The first, and most crucial step of the restoration work is to make the existing play structures safe for continuing future use by replacing rotten and damaged timber. Repairs will be carried out by volunteers, with help from local children who will be in charge of choosing new colours and creating murals. There may also be scope for extending the structures, or creating something completely new and exciting for the children.

The HTS team are taking a hands-on approach to the work by providing a willing team of volunteers who will help with rebuilding the play equipment. All HTS structural advice and support is being undertaken on a pro bono basis for this rewarding community project.
