A contingent from HTS visited the Walmar House site. Demolition was complete, including the removal of a number of internal shear walls, and two significant parts of the building requiring a façade retention to Great Castle Street. The enlarged steel frame was being erected, incorporating new stair and lift cores, and at the time of the visit the steelwork was between the second and fourth floors. The new frames incorporate lightweight concrete slabs on profiled metal decking, interacting with the existing steel frame and clay hollow pot floors across the boundary between old and new.
