HTS has an exciting opportunity for a Civil Technician, working within a team of technicians and alongside Civil engineers to create 3D models and 2D drawings of new build and refurbishment projects using various Autodesk design software.

About the role:

• Delivery of accurate Civil engineering drawings of various types of buildings and sites using Revit / Civil3D and to turn drawn concepts / Architectural layouts into Civil Engineering drawings
• Working within a team of Technicians to produce required project information and will be expected to meet deadlines and programmes agreed with project design team and Engineers/ Team Leader/ Director
• Integration of Architectural / M&E / Structural models with Civil Engineering model. Likewise, it will be required that all drawings from other disciplines are reviewed and discrepancies / revisions be reported to the Engineer
• Co-ordination with other disciplines to check completeness and quality of structural drawings
• Organising and implementing the issue of Civil Engineering drawings / information
• Experience using Civils 3D preferred but not essential

Working within a supportive and welcoming team, the role will require you to produce efficient, high-quality technical designs for both new build and refurbishment projects in a wide range of sectors. You will need to be enthusiastic, hard-working and looking to take on responsibility. 

The ideal candidate:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience;
• Chartered, or near Chartered with ICE
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Experience of developing SuDS strategies for major developments;
• Detailed design of below ground drainage networks, including SuDS elements, for buildings, highway and public realm;
• Highway, pavement design and ground modelling experience is beneficial but not essential;
• Experience of design for flood mitigation including developing sites in Flood Zone 3 is beneficial but not essential;
• Knowledge of design software such as WinDes (Microdrainage), Civil 3D, and the use of BIM;
• Experience of managing a small team;
