This year's office study trip took us to the Catalonian capital, Barcelona.
The trip begain with a tour of the city's newer structural additions led by architectural legend Robert Brufau (BAC Engineering Consulting Group). Meeting at the impressive Forum Canopy we made our way through the city to view some spectacular buildings including the CZF Building (MAP Architects) and the Disseny Hub (MBM Architects).
We then braved the heights of Foster and Partners designed Torre de Collserola, a uniquely designed communications tower situated on the Tibidabo Hill. The tower's futuristic design and stability system was creatively presented to the group by the newer members of the team.
Our trip ended at Mies van der Rohe's excellent Barcelona Pavilion. Constructed with elegant simplicity from glass, steel and marble this structure was at the forefront of the Modern Movement.
