Our project with Ben Adams Architects on Highland House has recently completed.
Highland House is a stone-clad new-build private residence in Kent which uses large glazed openings to make use of the surrounding landscape. The building comprises a braced steel frame superstructure over a concrete basement which extends into the natural clay strata below.
Each detail was co-ordinated with the architect with specific care and attention to ensure an elegant, minimal structure would be created that suited the need of the client for contemporary open-plan living. A key feature of the open-plan living is the staircase that penetrates through the centre of the building, incorporating cantilevering steel treads and glass floors to allow light into the basement.
