Fire at Battersea Arts Centre

We have been working on the development and refurbishment of the Grade II* listed Battersea Arts Centre (BAC) with Haworth Tompkins architects since 2012. Sadly on the 13th March a fire engulfed the grand hall to the rear of the building, destroying the roof and iconic arched ceiling within.

Fortunately no one was hurt and the London Fire Brigade did an exceptional job preventing the fire from spreading into other parts of the building.

We are currently working alongside BAC, Haworth Tompkins and Wandsworth Council to quickly stabilise the remaining structure and to make the building safe. Further to this, we are helping to formulate a plan to rebuild the roof and restore the grand hall to its original grandeur.

A funding campaign has been setup for the rebuilding of the grand hall. Please refer to the BAC website for up to date information.
