HTS is committed to tackling the climate crisis and biodiversity emergency. We have signed up to the structural and civil engineers declare initiatives and this week we’ll be joining the Global Climate Strike on the 20th September.
A week of Climate Strike action is taking place from 20th – 27th September and our team will either be taking part in the first Global Climate Strike in London or spending the time researching areas of sustainability. Those striking will be joining forces with the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) to show our support for urgent climate action from policy-makers and across the built environment. During the week we will be holding a series of workshops to further strengthen our working practices. We will discuss how to develop and promote low embodied carbon design solutions on all our projects and how to minimise material waste and retain as much of the existing structure as possible on our refurbishment projects. There are talks taking place all across London during the week and members of our team will be attending IStructE, ICE, UKGBC and NLA events to learn and further develop our knowledge.
